We had a beautiful Easter weekend here. It seems like every year we get fantastic weather over Easter – we sat in the sun, flew kites, did some gardening, picked flowers, rode bikes, and grilled sausages up in our little forest. In amongst all that activity, the only thing I took pictures of was our food. This was just the starters – after the cheese, herring, ham, and dyed/painted eggs we had roast kid, lentils and salad.
The girls each got a Lammily doll for Christmas, and I had a great time making some outfits for them. Here are my two favourites.
The belt and the bag are both made from some tiny leather scraps. The second dress is made from the sleeve of an old top of mine. It’s fiddly sewing such tiny things, but fun!
No, not my job, though it’s pretty tempting some days. After many years of dying my hair I’ve decided I just can’t be bothered anymore. It’s just another chore, another stress that I can live without. I’ve enjoyed doing my own colouring using a natural mix of henna and indigo, but I may as well stop now, put on a brave face, and do my best to age gracefully.
So when I turn 40 in 18 months, I’ll be celebrating the big day as a silver fox. Or a scary old witch, we’ll see how it turns out.
2014 saw a truly pathetic blogging performance from myself. I could come up with many excuses, but what’s the point? I’m not one for new year’s resolutions but I have decided to set myself a goal of blogging at least every other week. I’ve put reminders in my calendar to nudge me along. We’ll see how that goes.
The news this week is of a little girl turning four, and getting a new bike. Look at her go!
