The temperature has been up around +8°C for a few days in a row, so yesterday we attempting digging in a few patches of the garden to see if the ground had defrosted.  In some of the warmer spots, it is diggable, and Linus dug up these jerusalem artichokes, making for our first harvest of 2011!

The rest of the jerusalems are in a patch that is quite shaded, and still rather frozen.  Hopefully they will still be edible by the time we can reach them.

    The idea of having frozen ground is more than my head can compute. Must make life a misery for worms! 🙂
